Investing in your machinery

Which investments should get your priority?

Allow us to run the numbers for you.

Which investments do I prioritize over the other, and what is my return?

Replacement cost, duty cycle, remaining life and cost of downtime differ asset to asset, and all of this  needs to be taken into account during a budget decision making process. GBS Asset Optimization can provide expert interpretation of collected operational data to determine which assets are at-risk, and subsequently make an educated recommendation on expected investments and the order in which these are to be made for what.

What is my return on investments?

Studies have shown that 95% of those using some form of Optimization services, have accomplished an average increase of 9% in machine availability. This means in theory, it works – but what works specifically for you, your assets and your budget? It starts with investing in the right things; the most elaborate system will give you the best predicative qualities and will mitigate almost all the risk, but it comes at a price and it very well could not be the right match for e.g. a low replacement value, uniformly loaded, limited duty cycle asset. Allow GBS Asset Optimization to run the numbers for you, evaluate each asset individually and let us take variables into account that matter for your operation when we do that – so that we can make the theory work for you and show you the return on investment.

What do I need to spend in order to comply to changing regulations?

Maybe not as much as you think! Carbon, NOx, and noise emission or electrical efficiency standards – to name a few - influence how your asset runs or is supposed to run dramatically.  Not necessarily does this mean your whole drive train needs to be exchanged, or modifications to the structure are needed, if they do not comply yet at this point. There is a very realistic chance that with some minor tweaks, the requested change can be accomplished which makes it worth investigating and the Asset Optimization Services team at GBS can help you with that.

One-time optimization visit

In some situations, a one-time optimization visit provides you with just the reassurance you need to move forward.

Custom-made optimization

When changes in regulations, operating environment or production process call for modifications to your drive train, a custom optimization project can be the solution to accomplish that.

Routine optimization visit

A routinely scheduled optimization visit is a big step forward towards a maintenance strategy based on prediction.

Digital optimization

There are several ways to digitalize your machinery and let data drive your operation, with each one having its own advantages.
