It starts with investing in the right things; the most elaborate system will give you the best predicative qualities and will mitigate almost all the risk, but it comes at a price and it very well could not be the right match for e.g. a low replacement value, uniformly loaded, limited duty cycle asset. What do I need to spend in order to comply to changing regulations?
Maybe not as much as you think! Carbon, NOx, and noise emission or electrical efficiency standards – to name a few - influence how your asset runs or is supposed to run dramatically. Not necessarily does this mean your whole drive train needs to be exchanged, or modifications to the structure are needed, if they do not comply yet at this point. There is a very realistic chance that with some minor tweaks, the requested change can be accomplished which makes it worth investigating and the Asset Optimization Services team at GBS can help you with that.
